The location was good for local transport.
The accommodation was clean and bedrooms roomy.
We arrived in very wet weather to find that the guttering needs fixing - there was a constant gush of water falling from the gutter outside the kitchen when it rained. The back door was difficult to lock.
The main disappointments were that, while there were only three guests, the accommodation catered for six, but there was a small dining table with three chairs, none of which could be sat on, or were safe to sit on. Having registered this, Host&Stay were quick to provide three new ones which was good. There was insufficient seating for more than three people to relax on.
There were no cooking utensils, other than pans, and the cooker hood was not attached properly to the wall. The bath panel some attention. The carpets were not all fixed at the thresholds.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the wall in the kitchen by the back door where clearly there is an issue with damp or similar & where the plaster is affected. It was in need of repair.
While the property was generally clean, there were several scuff marks on walls.
Judging from the amount of uncollected mail and the various names on it, it would appear that the accommodation has been used as a student let. This seemed to fit the ambience and feel of the place.
The tv did not work while we were there - there was no signal from the Virgin box. We were able to get tv via the internet but not the promised numerous channels and films. The tv only worked with long cables and extensions that jung in front of the fireplace - none were in sight on the photos advertising the accommodation.
Host and Stay were quick to respond as they could, but only the chairs were actioned on.
I am sorry to report the above. However, it would not take much time to address most of these points. Uploading photos was not possible - despite changing the file extensions to any of those accepted.
Not the cleanest. Shower didn’t work on our arrival. One of the chairs were broken. Couple of health and safety issues such as nails sticking out of carpets.
Perfect for what we needed thanku
There was a container with cigarette ends in outside back door
It was a nice size for our group of 6 and located close to St James’ Park. Was basic and comfy enough for the short time we spent in it. Good communication from Host and Stay re check in etc - the website was really helpful.
The street itself was really dirty and covered in loads of litter that we had to climb over to get in and out. There were groups of men hanging around outside of the door to the apartment most times we went in/out, and also meeting up in cars outside. There were several broken things in the apartment such as the bath panel was hanging off, exposed light fittings etc. Just felt like it needed a maintenance update. The bedding and towels all had hair on them. There was unopened Mail piled up around the apartment which felt a bit shady.
Great stay in Newcastle - walking distance to the city centre & local amenities!
The place was very clean and looked exactly like the photos on the website. The location was great as everything was within reach and it was easy to commute into town centre. Only thing is that I was given two different check out times and there weren’t any spare pillows or sheets for the sofa bed in the front room which was slightly inconvenient.
This house just nearby with the halal shop and also very easy to get a bus/uber/taxi.
Great location, clean and comfortable and quiet
Wow, a lovely weekend away. It was so private, quiet and spotless.
Comfy beds, enough space to sit and watch some tv, really good shower too. Definitely a brilliant find and will be back!
The door was my mains struggle. I didn’t want to slam the door for people to hear me but it wouldn’t lock until I proper pulled it. Otherwise was a brilliant stay. Although I didn’t know what the area was we managed to get to places via taxi very easy. The house itself was very clean and has everything we needed
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, accès rapide au centre ville. Quartier calme
the apartment was gorgeous, spacious and well decorated
there was no cuttlery, there was teabags provided but no cups, I had to go and buy some and we wasn't warned about this. the apartment was also very cold and there was no clear directions to use any heating so in the middle of the night it was freezing
Perfect , host way easy to contact and didnt find a single fault throughout
Great location and good value for money. Only problem we had was that we all had to go for baths as there was no function for the shower. Company replied about this issue and said they would contact the owner but we never heard back.
Cleanliness, comfortable beds, good quality bed linen, location, nice and quiet at night, good kitchen facilities including tea/coffee and communication was great
We had a great stay
Hairdryer would gave been good, no soap in bathroom, unable to open bathroom window to let out steam, blind would have been good in bathroom and pint of milk would have been great and possibly earlier arrival time even between 2-3pm
Great house! Went for my birthday and it was amazing
Fantastic host, this is perfect if you want somewhere you can share with friends or if your in a group that’s only a stones throw away from the city centre. Me and my mates walked from the house to the toon and it only took 10 mins or so. There’s an Iceland just down the road too for your essentials.
Very clean, big apartment. Perfect for all of us. Area wasn’t the best but very fair price
Very clean and spacious apartment , perfect location
Very nice, recently refurbished apartment
Easy check in and out
I did not want to go thru the verification process, and it did not change anything.
We really enjoyed our trip in Northumberland
